Hi Everyone, On Sunday the 23rd of April, my family and I went to the Wild Fire Smokehouse and Grill for our farewell meal before we flew home that evening. I had never been there before so it was very exciting for me being the foodie I am and plus I was pretty excited about with the decor as I remember it when it was a supermarket. From the minute, we stepped through the door we were greeted with a smile from the staff and after they checked our booking we got our glasses of complimentary prosecco and were shown to our table. We had the nicest table outside in a lovely spot. I can't stop raving about how lovely the staff were they really made us all feel welcome and made the experience even more amazing. There was a Sunday lunch menu and you could choose from the following: Starters Smoked chicken Caesar salad Vegetable cream Goat cheese bruschetta with honey and nuts Mains Roast leg of lamb, rosemary jus, roast potatoes and vegetables Roast rib eye of beef served with Yorkshire pudding, horseradish cream, roast potatoes and vegetables Cod fish with cream Smoked vegetable risotto Desserts Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream Peach melba Banana split Before our starter, we got a selection of homemade white and brown bread with butter and carrot puree and the white bread was delicious and very moist. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photo's. For my starter, I went for the Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad which is my favourite. I had never had Caesar salad for a starter before so it was very new to me. I loved that the chicken was finely sliced and you got just the right amount of chicken and bacon. The homemade Caesar dressing was delicious and I was very happy that we got romaine lettuce and not the horrible iceberg kind. Very yummy starter. It made me even more excited for my main. I chose the Roast rib eye of beef for my main and it exceeded all my visions of what it would be like. It was so delicious the beef was cooked to perfection just the way I like it and it wasn't fatty which got extra points from me as I hate fatty meat. I thought the vegetables worked really lovely with it and I love that they did honey carrots as they are my favourite. All in all, this was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had and I’ll definitely be having it again. Anyone that knows me will know that Apple crumble and ice cream is my favourite so I had to have this. I love the way it was presented and I thought the slate plate added s nice touch to it. The crumble was absolutely scrumptious and it had just the right amount of filling. I loved this very much. For my drink of choice, I had a Somersby which is my favourite and only alcoholic drink I like and it went lovely with my roast. It was at just the perfect temperature. The service we received was amazing and they never once rushed us and were the perfect hosts. I will definitely be going back to check out their normal menu. My new favourite place for sure.
If you are ever in the area please do check out the wild fire smokehouse and grill. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Check out there website here. All my love Mariah Xx
