Hi Everyone, This week's blog is going to be about the open when cards I made for my best friend. I had seen the open when cards also most commonly know as open when letters online and I loved the idea of them and I wanted to make my best friend who lives in Italy something thoughtful and I loved the idea of the open when cards and that if I wasn’t online to answer her messages that I was always there for her whatever the situation. In total, I made 22. I used quotes and tips from the internet to fill them and I tried to make each one personal in a way so I changed bits around but I had the most fun adding little drawing to them. To make them all different I added stickers, drawings and different fonts. To make the actual card I used a design pad which I purchased from the Poundland which had many assorted designs, for example, I got a rose garden one and a vintage one but they were loads of different ones and I’m pretty sure I purchased them all. It kind of turned into an obsession, oops. The pack includes 32 sheets with 4 x 8 designs measuring 14,8 x 21cm and what I did was cut them in half as I thought that size was better. As for the envelope, I also brought a pack of paper also from the Poundland I found an envelope around the house which my piece letter would fit in, then I opened it up and put it onto a piece of thick card and made a template. Then I used Pritt stick to hold it together. As for sealing the envelope, I used some lace stickers which I thought added a nice touch. Here are my three favourite ones I made, I hope you enjoy!!! When I saw this idea online I knew it had to use it for my project. They were simple to make all I used were two pieces of card and a piece of ribbon. I loved the meaning of these hands and just to know my friend could have a long-distance hug whenever she needed it really meant so much to me. I really enjoyed making this card for my friend because I knew how much it would mean to her. I had so much drawing the map and I feel very pleased with how it turned out I had a lot of fun making this one as it made me laugh quite alot and I had a feeling my friend would laugh too.
I've had so much fun making this project for my best friend and I will definitely make them again for her and for my family. They are a fantastic idea to show someone how much you care and they would be perfect for any friendship/relationship long distance or not. All my love Mariah Xx
