I really want to share with you a very happy moment in my life but please be warned it's a long one. So, get comfy....
On the 1st of April I took a train ride to London to meet my internet best friend Hannah and I was beyond excited. Music brought us together and it was a talented artist called Nathan Sykes who’s music and personality that got us talking and we haven’t stopped since.
Hannah was my personal tour guide for the day and showed me all the sights.
We were both huge fans of Victoria so we agreed to meet at the Victoria and Albert museum. The minute I saw Hannah my face lit up and all the nerves went away and we hugged. Talking to Hannah I realised how much more we had in common and our views on things were very similar.
I saw so many interesting things in the Victoria and Albert museum but I was kind of disappointed that there wasn’t many Victoria and Albert exhibits but I did see lots of different things. I loved the iron section as it was so beautiful and fascinating. Hannah and I joked that we'd loved to have iron like that in our dream houses.
Our next stop was Hyde park and we decided as it was nice we'd have lunch there. On our way there I saw this beautiful blossom tree and I knew I had to get a photo. I haven’t been to Hyde park since I was very small so it was lovely to see it.
We took our first photos together in front of a beautiful garden area with a big water feature with some very pretty flowers. I don’t know what it’s called but it’s the corner by Wellington Arch.
We both thought we should get a cheeky selfie with a nice backdrop.
The next stop was Buckingham palace and I was very excited because I love the royal family like a lot so it was nice to visit there. Hannah and I talked about our families and I learnt a lot about the amazing places she has visited and it definitely gave me some travel goals.
Whilst on our way to Buckingham palace it rained a tiny bit but we had both had come prepared so we pulled out our umbrellas, it didn’t last long. Once we got to the palace we took a photo of us in front of it and I got some snaps of the Queen Victoria memorial statue which is so pretty and so timeless.
From Buckingham palace we walked to Westminster and on our way there we past Westminster abbey which is in my opinion is an ageless building with so many beautiful features. I love the outside of old buildings, the way they look so grand.
I didn’t realise how close everything in London is together. From Westminster the London eye seemed so close. It’s so strange .
Walking in Westminster I felt very reflective and it felt like a lot of other people felt like that too. My thoughts walking around Westminster were with everyone effected in the horrible tragedy. The amount of flowers that were laid in front of parliament was so huge. I read a few of the notes left by others and those words will definitely stay with me. Hannah and I walked to the bridge and I took some touristy photos of big Ben which I’m very proud of.
At this point time was getting on and we decided where our last place we would visit would be because Hannah’s train was at 5:10pm. We agreed that we’d go to Leicester Square because we wanted to see the global building where Capital FM is located and where Nathan is often. On our walk to Leicester Square we passed number 10 and from the TV it looks so big but actually in reality from the road you can’t even see it.
Hannah took a photo of the global building and we joked that we should photo shop a photo of Nathan into it. I didn’t realise how much there is In Leicester Square and whilst we were there Hannah wanted to show me M&M world as we are both quite partial to one. Hannah warned me of the sickly smell and she wasn’t wrong.
I couldn’t believe my eyes at how many there were. What Hannah wanted to show me was that down at the very bottom there is four giant M&M’s on Abbey Road. They are so cute and quirky, and is definitely worth a look.
Sadly now it was time for us to go our separate ways and I felt so sad as I had had such an amazing day with Hannah seeing some of the many sights of London. I had a blast and I will never forget that day and I can’t thank Hannah enough. We hugged and Hannah headed to the tube and I felt heartbroken saying goodbye but I knew it wouldn’t be the last time we would meet.
All my love
